Over $500,000 in assets stolen, attacker forged Uniswap-related ENS names to carry out arbitrage bot scam

Odaily report: According to on-chain detective Specter, the attacker behind this campaign provided so-called arbitrage bot tutorials and code through YouTube videos, and led victims to use a counterfeit Remix development interface to compile and deploy contracts. The attacker registered ENS names containing "Uniswap" and disguised the related addresses as legitimate sources of incoming funds for DeFi activity, making victims believe that the deployed arbitrage bot was profiting through Uniswap. After victims injected their own assets into the contract, the funds were transferred away by the attacker. The attacker currently appears to still be active and holds a considerable portion of the stolen funds in two addresses.
