Prediction market revenue reaches $156 million, Robinhood's second-quarter trading revenue up 44% year-over-year

Odaily Planet Daily News: Robinhood's second-quarter prediction market revenue surpassed its cryptocurrency and stock trading revenue, driving total trading revenue up 44% year-over-year to $776 million. Specifically, event contract revenue was $156 million, cryptocurrency trading revenue was $100 million (down 38% year-over-year), and stock trading revenue was $129 million. Robinhood's total net revenue for the second quarter increased 32% year-over-year to $1.31 billion, while net profit rose 48% year-over-year to $573 million. The notional cryptocurrency trading volume was $40 billion, including $22 billion from Bitstamp. Robinhood entered the prediction market in October 2024, launched a prediction market hub in March this year, and introduced the CFTC-licensed exchange Rothera in June.
