Iranian Foreign Ministry: Must Receive Fees for Services Provided in the Strait of Hormuz
Odaily星球日报讯 Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghaei stated that the measures taken by Iran to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz are both for safeguarding national security and in line with the common interests of the international community. Iran must receive fees for the services it provides in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to a recording of the ship's radio public channel provided by a sailor on a merchant vessel near the Strait of Hormuz, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy warned ships in nearby waters on the evening of the 13th local time, prohibiting them from passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The recording shows that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy hailed all ships in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, declaring that the Strait of Hormuz is completely closed and that any passage by ships within the strait will be "dealt with decisively." The broadcast also instructed all ships not to move within the Strait of Hormuz until further notice.
Iran's National Security Council Deputy Naboyan previously stated that, according to the text of the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States that he has reviewed, all commercial vessels will resume passage through the Strait of Hormuz without any restrictions. (Xinhua)
