US Treasury Secretary Bessent: Iran's Oil Storage is Exhausted, Forced to Halt Production
Odaily Planet Daily News US Treasury Secretary Bessent stated that Iran's oil storage is full and Tehran will need to stop oil production. After the US imposed a blockade on Iranian oil exports, the key issue in this conflict is: how long can the oil that Iran cannot export be stored before it runs out of space? Some analysts believe that Iran still has several weeks of storage capacity, and Tehran has begun to slowly reduce production to cope with this deadlock.
In an interview with CNBC's "Squawk Box" program, Bessent said that over the past three days, Iran has been unable to load tankers at its main oil export terminal on Kharg Island due to the US blockade preventing tankers from entering or leaving the Persian Gulf. Within the first month of the US blockade, US forces have forced 70 ships allegedly heading to or from Iranian ports to change course. (Jin Shi)
