Crypto media DL News to close at the end of May 2026

Odaily Planet Daily News: Crypto media DL News has announced that it will shut down at the end of May. DL News was founded in 2022 as the news division of DefiLlama and separated from DefiLlama in early 2023. In 2024, it launched its commercial division, DL Research, which saw revenue grow by 270% in 2025, surpassing a seven-figure annual sales figure.

Due to a decline in traffic within the crypto and tech media sector, as well as AI changing the search distribution model, the outlet failed to achieve commercial scale. The team began layoffs in mid-April and formally notified employees on May 1st of the decision to close at the end of the month.
