Odaily Planet Daily News The U.S. Central Command stated that on May 7, when U.S. Navy missile destroyers were transiting the Strait of Hormuz towards the Gulf of Oman, U.S. forces intercepted an unprovoked attack from Iran and conducted self-defense counterstrikes. As the destroyers USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason passed through this international waterway, Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones, and dispatched several small boats. The attack did not result in damage to any U.S. assets.
The U.S. Central Command neutralized the incoming threats and struck Iranian military facilities responsible for the attack on U.S. forces, including missile and drone launch sites, command and control centers, as well as intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance nodes.
