US media interprets Trump's "Freedom Plan" as "Guiding" rather than "Escorting"

The Wall Street Journal reported that US officials stated the mechanism "does not currently involve US Navy warships escorting ships through the strait."

CNN, citing a US official, said the plan "is not an escort mission" and indicated that US forces would "guide stranded ships." Axios, citing a US official, reported that US Navy vessels would be "on standby nearby" in case Iran attacks commercial ships.
