The naming process began on October 14th, when content tokenization platform Trends.fun launched a "Chinese Name for Solana" campaign, offering a 100 SOL prize pool. The rules required participants to retweet an official tweet and submit a proposed Chinese name. The best proposal would receive a 66 SOL reward.

Mable, founder of Trends.fun, said at the launch of the event that someone reminded her that Solana did not yet have an official Chinese name, and that Ethereum’s Chinese name “Ethereum” had helped ETH spread better in the Eastern market.

On October 15th, Solana Foundation President Lily Liu commented on a tweet about "Solala," noting the connection between her Chinese name, "立立," and "Solala." She explained that her parents chose the neutral character "立," perhaps hoping she would become a builder.

On October 19th, user muper announced that he had won a prize in the Solana Chinese name campaign and pledged to donate the prize to the Chinese community. He explained that the name "Solala" was inspired by a post by the president of the Solana Foundation. His team created the name to represent the image of a long-haired builder girl, symbolizing every builder working on Solana.

On October 20th, Lily Liu responded to muper's tweet, calling it a "cute picture," and changed her profile picture to "Solala." That same evening, the official Solana account quoted muper's tweet with the caption "Solala," officially endorsing the Chinese name.

This series of interactions has attracted market attention to Trends.fun's meme coin of the same name, "Solara".

On the morning of October 21, muper posted again that he had earned over $20,000 in transaction fees on Trends.fun in just half a day. He expected this figure to reach $100,000 soon and promised to return the transaction revenue to the community.

Other suggestions during the naming process
