AssangeDAO was initiated by a group of cyberpunks on December 10, 2021. It has raised a total of 17,442.49 ETH, all of which will be used to help defend WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and the publisher.
Julien Assange, in collaboration with a crypto artist named Pak, sold a set of NFTs called Censored (non-fungible tokens) in an online auction from February 7-9 to help raise funds to support his case.
All donors will receive the corresponding cryptocurrency JUSTICE tokens based on the donated ETH. JUSTICE holders can express their opinions on how AssangeDAO's resources are used.
However, while AssangeDAO claims to be following in ConstitutionDAO's footsteps, recent actions by the founding team have divided the community and brought accusations that the project is a scam.

intense community controversy
AssangeDAO has a large number of participants this time, with more than 10,000 users donating. Unlike ConstitutionDAO, which was primarily a grassroots event, many participants bought $JUSTICE tokens as a speculation, hoping that the price would rise like ConstitutionDAO's token, PEOPLE.
The sharp price drop has sparked heated discussions in the community. Many donors have doubts about the project and the sponsoring team.

They blame the founding members of AssangeDAO and The Consensus Unit, a group of Jen Robinson (Julian Assange's lawyer), Gabriel Shipton (Julian Assange's brother), Stella Moris (Julian Assange's fiancée), and the community A group of moderators that violates the original governance model proposed by them in AIP 0001.
According to AIP 0001, for every decision made by AssaganDAO, community members should first share a proposal to the forum. The proposal will then be reviewed by the consensus unit. If a proposal is accepted by the consensus unit, it will be added to the Snapshort. Holders of JUSTICE can vote to accept or reject the proposal.
However, in the first implementation of AssangeDAO, AIP 0001 was not applied.
During the first round of fundraising of AssangeDAO, the project party stated in Discord that there would only be one round of donations, but after the end of the first round of fundraising, the initiator immediately started the second round of donations.
Assange's brother (also a founding member) made the highest bid (16,593 ETH) in the entire treasury for the clock NFT in the community, and most members opposed it (because there were so few bidders). But the community simply ignored these objections, and AssangeDAO’s long signers drove the price to the top.
After the auction, the project operator also officially announced the founding team's withdrawal from AssaganDAO.
According to Dextools, the project operator is selling tokens. It also exacerbated the dissatisfaction and suspicion of the community.

It is proposed that AssangeDAO and Wikileaks jointly manage the Assange Foundation and jointly contribute to the rescue of Assange.

Perhaps a big V like V God donated to AssangeDAO out of a call for justice and a statement. Did not pay too much attention to the project itself. After Vitalik released his donation information on Twitter, AssangeDAO also welcomed a donation of nearly 5,000 ETH.
Perhaps, 10 ETH is just a negligible loss for V God to express his stance on justice. But for many speculators who regard the big V's movements as a kind of wind vane, it is another bloody and painful lesson.
