Inquiry Design Marathon and Art Competition: Our Collaboration with UN-Habitat and IAAI GloCha on Digital Art and NFTs

How can artists get involved in the fight against climate change with sustainable NFTs on Unique Network?

We believe that our NFT chain can not only improve the efficiency and capabilities of creators through a scalable proof-of-stake solution, but also alleviate the energy consumption of the blockchain and ensure that artists can display and tokenize their works, Make it available to a global audience. DigitalArt4Climate kicked off its design marathon in July, with a group of designers putting their talents to work in this exciting initiative that merges blockchain-based NFT art and climate awareness. We couldn't be more grateful to see the participation of designers and teams from all over the world, and would like to say thank you to the winning team, Team 2, who received a €500 prize and are currently working with the Palette69 team. Of course, thanks also to all the teams and designers involved in this project.

DigitalArt4Climate Art Competition

DigitalArt4Climate's art competition is the next phase of our climate protection initiative and follows on the heels of the design marathon. Launched in August 2021, the initiative invites entries from both digital and traditional artists, and the competition will welcome a diverse range of artwork from around the world. The winner will receive a prize of 3,000 euros through public voting (1,500 euros for the overall champion; 500 euros for the remaining winners), and the winning works will have the opportunity to be exhibited at the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26 in Milan and Glasgow. Unique Network will provide advanced functional support for the competition, and will establish a flexible economic and income model for individual artists so that they can monetize their work in the best way.

➤ Global Challenges Action Network (GLOCHA)

GloCha is a youth-focused, UN-accredited civil society organization based in Klagenfurt am Wörtheersee, Austria. Since 1999, IAAI's mission has been to build an ecosystem for GloCha and build the corresponding decision-making, technical and institutional infrastructure for social participation in the implementation of environmental sustainability goals.

➤ UN-Habitat Program

The United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) is the United Nations program on human settlements and sustainable urban development. It was established in 1978 as an outcome of the first United Nations Conference on Human Settlements and Sustainable Urban Development held in Vancouver, Canada in 1976. Operating in more than 90 countries, UN-Habitat promotes change in cities and human settlements through knowledge, policy advice, technical assistance and cooperation.

➤ Social Alpha Foundation

The Social Alpha Foundation (SAF) is a non-profit funding platform focused on supporting blockchain mentorship and outreach, enabling communities to leverage blockchain technology for social good. The Social Alpha Foundation, proudly partnered with the Blockchain Trust Accelerator (BTA), Bitfury and the National Democratic, and supported by the Rockefeller Foundation, is creating an Impact Ledger, a curated online registration campaign for social impact projects. SAF also worked closely with Cornell University and Tsinghua University to hold an international blockchain workshop under the funding of Social Alpha Foundation.

➤ Exquisite Workers

Exquisite Workers is a community of 572 artists from 50 countries whose ultimate goal is to create a more humane society by bringing the Exquisite Corpse online. Exquisite Corpse is the game of the immortal surrealists, a library of wisdom that teaches us that each individual contribution to the collective matters.

➤ Palette69

Palette69 is a design service company from India, established in 2015. It has worked on projects in the UK, US and India, delivering creative solutions ranging from gamification and UX/UI to virtual reality, augmented reality, branding, video and advertising. Palette69 has over 100 clients worldwide and has worked with Bayer, World Remit, Weill Cornell University and more. Palette69 is currently launching an NFT ecosystem called Boolien.

➤ Dmitry Belitsky

Dmitry Belitsky, is the final UX/UI solution instructor for this Design Marathon and DigitalArt4Climate Marketplace. He has more than 15 years of experience in UX and creative design, working for banks and prestigious organizations in five countries on all continents. He believes that a people-centred approach always leads to good outcomes for people, society and the environment. As a Senior Advisor to Standard Chartered Bank, he is currently involved in numerous projects helping people, businesses and economies in developing countries grow and prosper sustainably. As Lead UX Designer, Dmitry was awarded 'Best App Designer for UK Digital Experience' in 2019 as part of the UK Digital Experience Awards.

HubZine Italia aims to be a center of exchange, information and intergenerational discussion. A center where civic and democratic creativity, participatory and young ideas collide. HubZine will be the focus of the Italian DigitalArt4Climate initiative, with joint events including design marathons, edutainment events and others in the context of the Pre-COP youth event in Milan.
