HTC Exodus Blockchain Smartphone Released, Pre-sale Supported in Multiple Countries and Regions

Yesterday, the HTC Exodus blockchain smartphone was released, and HTC announced pre-sales in 34 countries and regions including the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Austria, and Norway. For the first time, it will be possible to pay in cryptocurrency at a price of 0.15 bitcoin or 4.78 ether, and is expected to ship in December.
This version is Exodus 1, which is mainly for the encryption community and developers, and the API interface has been opened for encryption technicians and developers. Exodus 1 is equipped with HTC's flagship performance and design, combined with blockchain technology and equipped with necessary application software. The configuration of the phone is, 6-inch QHD + display, with Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6GB/128GB memory, 3500 mAh battery, dual 16mp rear telephoto zoom camera, plus dual 8MP front camera.
Back in May, HTC had announced that it was developing a blockchain smartphone called Exodus.
Why did HTC choose to launch a blockchain phone?HTC once sold a tenth of the world's smartphones. However, under the fierce market competition from Apple, Samsung and mainland China, sales have suffered a significant decline. According to Reuters, the company's April revenue fell 55.5% year-on-year. The sharp decline in market share has forced HTC to explore more feasible solutions to improve the market, and blockchain phones are one of them.
HTC is not the first company to announce a blockchain smartphone. Israeli technology company SirinLabs has launched a blockchain smartphone and named it Finney. It's a phone that lets people store and spend digital currencies without paying transaction fees.
I also made an inventory of the development of domestic blockchain mobile phones before. For example, in January this year, Sugar announced the development of a candy blockchain creation version S11BK. In March, Changhong announced the release of the blockchain mobile phone Changhong R8 Kirin. In the same month, Lenovo released the blockchain mobile phone Lenovo S5.
Among the three blockchain phones mentioned above, Lenovo focuses on security, while Candy and Changhong focus on the popular "mining" function as their selling point.
The big mobile phone manufacturers have not announced their involvement in this field at present.Blockchain technology on the mobile side is more difficult. The application scenario is not required. Applying the blockchain to the mobile phone operation is too complicated, and the design of the business model is difficult. In addition, it is necessary to face the trend of stricter supervision. These problems have made large companies hesitate to combine mobile phones with blockchain technology.
At present, mobile phone brands have launched blockchain concept mobile phones, and many people question that it is a hot topic. Therefore, for HTC, whether the development and production of blockchain mobile phones can alleviate the market crisis depends on the market's response to the launch of new products.
