Odaily News: On-chain derivatives protocol Variational has announced that the VAR TGE is scheduled for Q4 2026. The initial token distribution includes a 32% genesis allocation, an 18% ecosystem reserve, and a 50% team and investor share.
Among these, the genesis allocation will be airdropped based on the proportion of Variational points held, and will be 100% unlocked at the TGE; team and investor tokens will be locked for 12 months after the TGE, and then unlocked over a period of at least 3 years. Variational plans to use all revenue directed to the treasury to buy back and burn VAR.
In addition, the distribution of 150,000 points per week will continue until the TGE. Variational stated that the postponement of this TGE from the original plan is mainly related to a major strategic partnership. Before the TGE, it will push for Omni to launch its public mainnet and announce more details regarding token buybacks and utility.
According to Lookonchain monitoring, after UNI's decline, a whale completed the purchase at a price of $9.39.

Witt stated that Trump had previously agreed to two "unprecedented" ethics provisions.
Additionally, Witt attributed part of the resistance to banking lobbying, saying that large banks are concerned about stablecoin rewards competing with interest-bearing bank deposits, and have conveyed this concern to community banks.

Odaily: The US 5-year Treasury yield extended its rise, recently up 19.04 basis points to 5.032%, marking the first time it has risen above 5% since 2007.
Odaily reports that David Hoffman, founding partner of Bankless Ventures, posted that the crypto market occasionally sees a single asset concentratedly absorbing capital transfers from Bitcoin holders. ETH exhibited a similar pattern in 2021, and ZEC in 2026 is becoming a new consensus allocation target for some Bitcoin capital.
Hoffman stated that ZEC's market cap has risen from approximately $200 million to around $26 billion, but remains small compared to Bitcoin's market cap of roughly $1.7 trillion. It would only take convincing a small portion of Bitcoin holders to allocate a modest amount to ZEC to potentially generate sustained buying pressure. Additionally, he believes NEAR is absorbing the relatively weaker "smart contract buying pressure" in 2026.
Odaily reports that Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire, in a post on X citing Arc Chain's official tweet, stated that one week after Arc Chain's launch, on-chain assets (USDC and cirCTC) have surged from zero to $700 million, while USDC transaction volume has surpassed $7 billion.

According to Odaily, all Democratic members of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee sent a letter to Committee Chairman Tim Scott requesting a public hearing on prediction markets, arguing that the committee bears important oversight responsibilities regarding the regulation of related markets.
On the same day, Scott and Republican members of the committee privately met with Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour to discuss securities-linked prediction market products, investor protection, and regulatory issues. Democratic lawmakers believe that some prediction market products tied to corporate performance metrics may fall within the SEC's regulatory scope and should be reviewed through a public, bipartisan process.
