Odaily News: The CFTC's Division of Market Oversight issued a staff advisory on September 22 stating that contracts tied to specific individuals' statements, appearances, or interactions are more susceptible to manipulation risks, requiring exchanges to explain protective measures on a contract-by-contract basis, including whether outcome determiners are bound by independent obligations, whether they may be subject to pressure, whether outcomes can be externally verified, and whether monitoring mechanisms are suited to the relevant risks.
The document represents staff views and does not constitute binding rules, nor does it prohibit such markets. The CFTC also disclosed that a White House teleprompter operator once used early access to speech drafts to trade such contracts, earning $107,500; Kalshi subsequently still listed the relevant market and said it had responded to prior discussions with the CFTC.

Odaily reports that the European Securities and Markets Authority has announced it will include AI and tokenization among the EU's 2027 regulatory priorities and has launched a project to "advance innovation with investor protection." National regulators will map out financial institutions' customer-facing AI and tokenization applications and conduct preliminary reviews of institutions with the largest related exposures.
Risks flagged by ESMA include biased, vague, or misleading AI outputs, investors' difficulty in understanding new products, skill gaps among regulators, and reliance on a small number of third-party technology vendors. The cybersecurity and operational resilience priorities launched in 2025 will be expanded in 2027 to smaller institutions and crypto asset service providers licensed under MiCA.

Odaily reports that Bitcoin mining company Hive Digital Technologies has filed an appeal with the European Commission regarding a Swedish VAT dispute. The Swedish Tax Agency reclassified the data center services of its two Swedish subsidiaries as proprietary mining, with retroactive application to relevant operations since 2022.
This classification excludes the relevant operations from VAT scope, and input VAT already refunded to the subsidiaries may need to be returned. Hive argues that its subsidiaries provide hash rate services to clearly defined clients under contracts, which should constitute taxable business activities.
A Swedish court declined to refer the matter to the Court of Justice of the European Union. Hive stated that the court did not provide reasons for its refusal and has submitted the dispute to the European Commission. (Bitcoin.com News)

Odaily News: Goldman Sachs Group expects the Japanese yen to strengthen to the 150 level over the next 12 months, marking a shift from its previous bearish stance. The firm believes that changes in Japan's domestic policy and potential capital repatriation will enhance the yen's upside prospects. Goldman Sachs strategist Karen Reichgott Fishman raised her 12-month USD/JPY forecast from 165 to 150 in a report, while also adjusting her 3-month and 6-month targets to 158 and 155, respectively.
She stated that the revised forecasts are mainly based on the Bank of Japan raising interest rates faster than previously expected, as well as the increased likelihood of Japanese domestic capital flowing back into Japanese assets. Fishman wrote: "Together, these changes increase the appeal of going long the yen, especially at a time when the market is beginning to worry about recession risks, as the yen can provide some protection." Odaily News: Texas Hold'em poker professional and crypto investor Huzhewen made heavy bets during three crypto booms—algorithmic stablecoins and AI tokens—but suffered repeated losses. From May 2021 to May 2022, he invested approximately $80 million to purchase algorithmic stablecoin TerraUSD (UST) and its sister token LUNA. At their peak, his holdings were worth over $800 million, but LUNA's price subsequently fell to near zero. He claims he had previously invested in blockchain project Stratis and achieved a return of "over 1,000x."
It is reported that Huzhewen has filed a lawsuit in Chicago, USA, against globally renowned quantitative trading firm Jump Trading, its crypto-related companies and executives, seeking at least $500 million in damages. Additionally, in January last year, Huzhewen bet on a new project by Chinese computer science professor Zhang Yongfeng. Zhang entered Tsinghua University's Department of Computer Science in 2007 and currently serves as a tenured associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at Rutgers University in the United States. He has been sued by Huzhewen on multiple charges including "securities fraud." It is reported that tokens issued by an institution founded by Zhang Yongfeng, which Huzhewen purchased for millions of dollars, have dropped over 99.6% from their 2025 peak.
Public records show that Huzhewen is a world-class Texas Hold'em poker player. The World Series of Poker (WSOP) official website currently records 58 cashes and 5 final table appearances, with cumulative tournament winnings of approximately $1.67 million. Four years ago, in the "SuperMILLION$" high-stakes event with a $10,000 buy-in, he made it to the final two but ultimately lost to a New Zealand professional poker player, finishing as runner-up and winning nearly $760,000—the largest single-tournament payout of his public poker career. Odaily News: According to the Jerusalem Post, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told reporters on Thursday during the United Nations General Assembly in New York that Iran has proposed a plan to the United States to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days. Araghchi stated that the plan would build on the memorandum of understanding reached between the two countries in June this year, but would only be implemented under specific conditions. He said, "I think it would be better if this could be completed before the U.S. midterm elections. But that depends on the decision of the U.S. government." Araghchi also stated that Iran does not care about the specific timing and is not in a hurry to advance the process. (Jinshi)
Odaily reports: According to Spartan Capital monitoring, Robinhood Chain launched its mainnet on July 1, 2026. By the end of August, on-chain TVL had grown to $711 million, with August on-chain gas revenue reaching $6.6 million. The majority of August trading volume came from Uniswap, and on August 31, single-day on-chain fees briefly reached $2.1 million.
Robinhood operates the sequencer and receives approximately 90% of on-chain fees; after deducting Ethereum settlement costs and the 10% licensing share paid to Arbitrum DAO, August net revenue was approximately $6 million.
Robinhood Earn users deposited USDG and borrowed through Morpho, with deposits growing from $9.5 million on July 1 to $456 million on August 31, accounting for 68% of TVL at the end of the month. Users' estimated annualized yield was approximately 7%, while the lending side yield was approximately 3.7% at the end of August, with the spread subsidized by incentive funds from Morpho and its lending partners.
As of the end of August, more than 340,000 tokens had been issued on-chain; Meme tokens paired with Robinhood Stock Tokens recorded $518 million in trading volume in August. Currently, on-chain trading activity is primarily driven by crypto-native users, and Robinhood's 27 million funded accounts have not yet migrated to the chain at scale. Robinhood wallet gas subsidies will continue until September 29, and Earn yields are planned to be gradually reduced.
Odaily News: Approximately $15 billion in Bitcoin options are set to expire at quarterly settlement on Friday (September 25), with September 25 contracts accounting for more than one-third of Deribit's total Bitcoin options open interest. The put/call ratio is 0.70, with the largest call positions concentrated at strike prices of $85,000, $90,000, and $100,000.
Bitcoin is trading at around $84,258, down 2% on the day, above the max pain price of $76,000, and below the $85,000 level where call positions are most densely concentrated. Large-scale options expirations are typically accompanied by volatility, while market maker hedging may dampen price swings; Bitcoin's recent strength has been linked to the U.S. Treasury expanding buybacks, a weaker dollar, and the price rising above the 365-day moving average.
