CZ: AI will expose more security issues in the short term, but in the long run it will make systems more secure
Odaily reports: In an interview at the Oxford Union, CZ said that this hacking incident could have been prevented, and that some internal employees failed to follow basic operational security procedures. The attackers spent about five to six months piecing together the attack chain and used social engineering, interview phishing, and AI to find system weaknesses.
CZ believes that in the short term AI will expose more security issues, but in the long run it will make systems more secure. He said the industry cannot promise 100% security and needs to work with AI labs, law enforcement agencies, and security experts to promote a multi-layered defense system to counter escalating attacks.
