Bitcoin active addresses down 43% from peak, average daily transfer volume down only 5.4%

Odaily reports: According to monitoring by analyst Axel Adler Jr., as of November 1, the 30-day average of Bitcoin active addresses is approximately 629,000, down 43% from the local peak of about 1.1 million in December 2024, a further decline of 1% over the past week, and currently about 10% below the full-year average of approximately 702,000. In 2018, this metric fell from about 1.1 million to about 547,000, a decline of approximately 50%, over a period of about three months; the current pullback from the peak has lasted nearly two years, with a similar magnitude but a slower contraction.

Over the same period, since December 10, 2024, the 30-day average of daily transfer volume has dropped from approximately 865,000 BTC to about 819,000 BTC, a decline of about 5.4%, but still about 5.5% above the full-year average of approximately 776,000 BTC. Analysis suggests that while Bitcoin active addresses have fallen notably, the scale of BTC transferred on-chain remains comparable to recent-year levels; both metrics declined over the past week, with no signs of sustained recovery yet.
