The U.S. military is ready to launch a new large-scale operation against Iran, capable of striking within 96 hours of receiving orders
Odaily reports: Two U.S. officials stated that U.S. forces in the Middle East are prepared to launch a new round of military operations against Iran within 96 hours once they receive orders from President Donald Trump, and the scale of the operation could be considerable. Sources said the U.S. forces currently deployed in the region are already sufficient to carry out potential strike missions. The sources also said the scope of the new U.S. military operation may no longer be limited to strikes on Iranian radar systems, missile launchers, and other military assets that can be quickly restored. Such operations are often described as "mowing the lawn," aimed at periodically degrading the adversary's military capabilities. The U.S. military has been taking similar approaches since Trump halted full-scale combat operations earlier this year.
A U.S. official said: "This will be a large-scale operation." Other current and former officials familiar with internal U.S. military operational planning discussions expressed similar views. Some of them believe the question is not whether Trump will order an attack, but when. They believe the order could come at any time before the end of this year, but more likely after the U.S. midterm elections conclude. (CNN)
