Two-level reversal? Tesla Roadster is just a "fart car that can fly for at most 6 seconds," and does not meet the FAA's definition of an aircraft
Odaily reports: The Tesla Roadster has sparked heated market discussion with its "flying car" concept, but controversy has followed accordingly.
Recently, CBS News inquired with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which responded that the Tesla Roadster does not meet the FAA's definition of an aircraft. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration subsequently stated that even if the vehicle visually challenges the laws of physics, Tesla must ensure it complies with applicable motor vehicle safety standards, and drivers must also obey local road regulations. In other words: the Roadster is not a flying car.
In addition, based on reporting by overseas media outlet MotorTrend and technical conditions, the flight time of the demonstration vehicle that completed three jumps at the Roadster launch event depends on its gas storage capacity. Under full-thrust conditions, the flight time cannot even last 2 seconds, while the subsequent inflation time is as long as 6 to 7 hours. And based on a gas storage capacity of 250 kilograms, under full-thrust conditions, the flight time still cannot last more than 6 seconds. (Dongchehui)
