Anthropic: Will allocate part of its equity to its public benefit fund, with an estimated 20% of equity to be used for public welfare causes
Odaily reports: Anthropic officially announced on X: "We are committing to allocate a portion of Anthropic's shares to the 'Anthropic Public Benefit Fund' — a newly established entity wholly owned by us and fully dedicated to the public interest. The fund will initially hold 5% of our shares. On top of the established baseline, for every 50% increase in the company's valuation, subject to Board review and approval, we may allocate up to an additional 2% of shares. This means that approximately 20% of Anthropic's total shares will be dedicated to public welfare causes. Our co-founders have committed to donating 80% of their personal equity; in addition, under the equity matching program we established since our founding, about half of our employees are also donating a portion of their respective equity."
