Coinbase and Marqeta Expand Partnership to Offer Stablecoin Payment Card Services for Enterprises

Odaily News: Payment technology company Marqeta will expand its partnership with Coinbase to provide enterprises with payment card services backed by customers' stablecoin assets. Coinbase will handle stablecoin custody and digital currency-to-fiat conversion, while Marqeta will manage card issuance and payment processing. Coinbase's Base blockchain will provide on-chain settlement infrastructure. The service targets Marqeta's enterprise clients, spanning both the crypto industry and traditional enterprises. Cardholders can spend stablecoins at millions of merchants worldwide that accept bank card payments, and businesses can fund their payment card programs around the clock. The two parties have not yet disclosed specific fees, an official launch date, or the initial stablecoin types supported.
