Harvard's endowment grows to $68 billion, its best in five years, boosted by investments including SpaceX

Odaily News: Harvard University's annual financial report shows that its endowment grew 27.1% in fiscal year 2026, marking its strongest investment return performance in five years. The fund's total size is now close to $68 billion.

Harvard's Chief Financial Officer Ritu Kalra and Treasurer Timothy Barakett wrote in the annual report: "This return will strengthen the endowment's ability to support the university's development over the long term. Strong investment returns will, through future fund distributions, gradually provide support for Harvard University's various endeavors." In its second-quarter 13F holdings report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Harvard University disclosed that it holds SpaceX shares worth $2.2 billion, its largest single holding by market value, followed by TSMC, with a holding value of slightly less than $350 million.

According to previous reports, Harvard's endowment disclosed as early as 2018 that it had begun investing in cryptocurrencies.
