Patrick Witt's Renewal at the White House Crypto Council Remains Unclear as Secondment Term Expires or Nears Expiration

Odaily News: A Fox Business crypto reporter posted on X that over the past week, they emailed the White House three times asking whether Patrick Witt still serves as Executive Director of the White House Crypto Council, but received no response; Witt declined to comment.

A person familiar with the matter said that Witt is a U.S. Department of Defense employee currently serving at the White House Crypto Council on a temporary secondment basis, and that his secondment term has expired or is about to expire, with it remaining unclear whether it will be renewed. Earlier this year, Witt postponed his service in the Georgia National Guard and is expected to resume it. After Deputy Director HarryYJung departed at the end of July and David Sacks' tenure as head of crypto and AI affairs ended earlier this year, Witt became the only remaining staff member on the council.
