a16z Releases 7th Consumer AI App Ranking: ChatGPT Still No. 1, Claude's Web Version Rises to Third

Odaily News: a16z has released the seventh edition of its Top 100 Consumer AI Apps ranking. ChatGPT continues to hold the top spot, with monthly active users on mobile surpassing 1 billion; Claude's web version has risen to third place, with monthly visits approaching 1 billion.

For the first time, this ranking added a revenue ranking, alongside the web and mobile traffic rankings. Among them, by monthly revenue, the top five are OpenAI, Anthropic, Canva, Superhuman, and Higgsfield. Because Gemini's revenue cannot be reliably separated from Google's other consumer businesses, Gemini was not included in the revenue ranking.

a16z noted that compared with the first edition of the ranking three years ago, which mainly consisted of chatbots and image generation tools, consumer AI apps today have expanded into multiple fields including coding, music, design, voice, video, agents, and smart hardware.
