Japanese and South Korean stock markets close lower

Odaily News: According to Gate data, the Nikkei 225 Index closed down 993.60 points, or 1.42%, at 69,042.11 on October 8 (Thursday). South Korea's KOSPI Index closed down 159.63 points, or 2.35%, at 6,644.27 on October 8 (Thursday), with SK Hynix falling 2.4% and Samsung Electronics dropping 1.4%.
