MSCI May Remove Strategy and Others from Major Indexes, Related Funds Could Be Forced to Sell $2.8 Billion in Strategy Stock
Odaily: Bitcoin News posted on X that MSCI is considering setting screening criteria that could remove Strategy, Metaplanet, and uranium-holding company Yellow Cake from its major indexes. Conner Brown of the Bitcoin Policy Institute said the screening would be based on "operating assets," but he believes neither US GAAP nor IFRS has defined this term. JPMorgan estimates that MSCI-related funds alone could be forced to sell approximately $2.8 billion worth of Strategy stock; MSCI is expected to make a decision by October 16.
