69.2% of Retail Accounts Are Losing Money; Polymarket's International Platform Has Accumulated $338.9 Million in Losses

Odaily reports that, according to monitoring by Galaxy Research, its analysis of approximately 2.9 million retail accounts on the international platform, filtered by manual trading frequency, based on Polymarket on-chain settlement data compiled by Stork, shows that 69.2% of accounts ultimately ended below break-even, with combined losses of $338.9 million. Accounts that did not open another position within 30 days after a loss accounted for 15.2%, compared with 6.1% after a profit.

The report defines accounts that traded in at least 5 categorized markets and concentrated more than 60% of their traded markets in a single theme as specialist traders, accounting for 44.1%. Among them, sports traders made up 47% of all specialist traders, but only 25.1% were profitable, the lowest among all themes; technology and science traders had the highest profitability rate, at 41.2%, though the sample was relatively small.
