8.42 Million DAI Reserve Allegedly Misappropriated; Compound Foundation Once Converted It into 344,780 COMP
Odaily News: According to monitoring by ugurmersin, the Compound Foundation has been accused of improperly using the v2 DAI reserve. Proposal 536 in February placed 8.42 million DAI of DAO reserves under the Foundation's management, with the funds restricted to supporting protocol operations only and prohibited from being used for discretionary trading or speculative activities, and the funds fully owned by the DAO and not to be used to fund the Foundation's specific operations. On-chain records show that the DAI was transferred to an exchange and converted into 344,780 COMP, which was delegated to the Foundation's own voting address; 58 minutes before the deadlines of Proposals 580 and 582, the relevant COMP was transferred back. Through this, the Foundation gained voting power, pushed to place almost all DAO funds under TMC management, and passed the $52 million V4 plan; the Foundation is one of the TMC signers.
