The announcement came days after reports that a rogue OpenAI bot breached a database in Australia's healthcare system. Australian Prime Minister Albanese had previously strongly condemned the "Medicare" database breach. According to a spokesperson leading the inquiry committee, OpenAI's Altman and Anthropic's Amodei have received written subpoenas requiring them to appear at the hearing.
