OpenSea: Unaffected by Magic Eden Security Incident, Over 3,000 Stolen NFTs Flagged and Banned from Sale

Odaily reports that OpenSea Chief Technology Officer Chris Maddern posted on X platform stating that OpenSea was not affected by the Magic Eden and Limit Break security incident. Its systems and smart contracts are functioning normally. The platform will display a warning banner to alert users and provide a link directing users to revoke authorization.

Chris Maddern added that the currently known affected ERC-721 NFTs have been flagged on OpenSea and cannot be sold. For newly discovered exploited NFTs, OpenSea will also automatically flag them to restrict attackers from receiving related offers. As of now, over 3,000 NFTs have been flagged as stolen and banned from trading. OpenSea will continue to help mitigate the impact of this industry-wide security incident on users.
