Binance Security Alert: iPhone Users Need to Check If FomoPeek Is Installed, Which Can Exploit iOS Vulnerabilities to Gain Root Access to Devices
Odaily reports that Binance Wallet has issued a security alert stating that iPhone and iPad users need to check whether they have ever installed the FomoPeek app. According to disclosures by security firms including SlowMist, FomoPeek versions 1.1 to 1.2 contain malicious code that can exploit iOS vulnerabilities to gain root access to devices and may access sensitive data such as private keys, seed phrases, login credentials, chat records, and files.
Binance stated that if a user's device is running iOS 26.x or an earlier version and FomoPeek was previously installed, it is recommended to immediately delete the app and upgrade to the latest iOS version. Self-custody wallet users should create a new wallet on a secure device that has never had the app installed and transfer their assets to the new address.
