Iranian source: US says it is ready to negotiate with Iran

Odaily reports: A senior Iranian source said that Qatar and Pakistan, acting as mediators, have informed Iran that the United States is ready to negotiate and reach an agreement, and is serious about advancing this process. The source noted that, for its part, Iran is prepared to resume implementing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding within days, provided the United States returns to it and fulfills its terms. However, Iran demands tangible and credible guarantees that it will not be attacked again. Once the United States implements the substance of the memorandum, including halting hostilities, lifting the blockade, and allowing Iran to export oil, Iran will immediately launch negotiations on the nuclear issue and the lifting of sanctions. Iran has reached a consensus with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz issue; however, as long as the blockade continues and no agreement has been reached with the United States, "Iran will not reopen the strait."
