Number of EU MiCA-Registered Banks Rises to About 80, Share Climbs to Nearly 23%
Odaily News — The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) MiCA registry shows that between June 26 and September 16, the number of bank-type crypto asset service providers increased from about 40 to about 80, with their share of registered providers rising from about 17% to nearly 23%.
During the same period, the total number of registered crypto asset service providers grew from 243 to 349, while the share of non-bank providers fell from about 84% to 77%, though their absolute number continued to grow. Several German cooperative banks and commercial banks entered the list, and Deutsche Bank plans to launch digital asset custody services for European institutional and corporate clients.
