Odaily News: Helius co-founder Mert Mumtaz stated that privacy is often regarded as Zcash's ultimate goal, but its more important role is to help build a superior monetary asset.

Mert pointed out that internet-native currencies by default carry historical transaction information, which may affect the fungibility of the asset, whereas privacy mechanisms can free funds from the transaction history of previous holders, providing stronger fungibility and safe-haven properties for store-of-value assets. He believes that combining this with quantum resistance and performance upgrades will further strengthen Zcash's capability as a monetary asset.
