Uniswap Founder: SEC Commissioner Peirce Says What Needs No Exemption Is Permissionless Uniswap
Odaily reports: Uniswap founder Hayden Adams posted on the X platform that today's most bullish AMM news is not the SEC's official statement, but the accompanying comment letter from SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce.
In the comment letter, Peirce stated that truly decentralized systems driven by autonomous software "need no exemption." Adams said this means that ordinary permissionless Uniswap does not need to apply for an exemption; the exemption mainly applies to permissioned pools in Uniswap v4, providing a compliant pathway for transactions involving relevant assets and users within the United States. Adams stated that this will help drive AMM adoption, and Uniswap will subsequently submit a comment letter and propose improvement suggestions.
