Block time may be shortened, Ethereum EIP-8198 plans to reduce L1 block time from 12 seconds to 10 seconds

Odaily News: The Ethereum community is advancing the "Quick Slots" proposal EIP-8198, which aims to remove clients' assumptions about a fixed 12-second block time through a one-time refactor, and subsequently shorten block times gradually based on network conditions.
