Trading Hours for Korean Stocks Extended to 8 PM
Odaily reports: The Korea Exchange has officially launched after-hours trading. Regular stock trading hours remain from 9 AM to 3:30 PM, and under the new system, investors can continue trading until 8 PM after the regular market close. As for pre-market trading, due to the securities industry's concerns over the significant burden of IT system development and staffing operations, the Korea Exchange has postponed the pre-market session, originally scheduled to launch today, to the end of 2027. Regarding whether ETFs (exchange-traded funds) and ETNs (exchange-traded notes), which have drawn market attention, will be included in after-hours trading, the Korea Exchange stated that, given concerns about market volatility, ETFs and ETNs will not be included in after-hours trading for the time being.
