Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix account for 99%; Bank of Korea reviews the "epic fluctuations" in the stock market
Odaily report: The Bank of Korea, in its recently released "Monetary and Credit Policy Report for September 2026," reviewed the reasons behind the fluctuations in the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) this year. The report shows that as KOSPI continued to climb, the contribution of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix to the index's gains rose rapidly. In particular, during KOSPI's surge from 8,000 points to 9,000 points in June this year, the two stocks contributed as much as 99% of the index's increase. (Jinshi)
