Bonk Guy Attacked by STONK Community: Buying EMBER Is Not a Challenge to STONK

2026-09-11 12:56

Odaily News: Well-known trader Bonk Guy responded on X to the STONK community's questioning of his purchase of EMBER, saying that some community members believed his buying another Launchpad token meant he was trying to challenge STONK's industry position, a reaction he called "extremely exaggerated." He pointed out that STONK's second-largest holder had previously bought EMBER at a $2.8 million market cap and remained bullish for several days without being questioned, while after he bought EMBER at a valuation about 6 times that holder's entry price, he was treated as "the villain," which clearly reflects a double standard.

Bonk Guy emphasized that he remains bullish on STONK and had publicly praised STONK even when he held no position, with that post now having over 400,000 views. He said that support for STONK from core teams in the Solana ecosystem is one of the biggest reasons he shifted back to a bullish outlook after being broadly bearish on the Solana ecosystem for months prior, and he believes that if one is bullish on STONK's long-term vision, this pullback caused by community controversy may instead be a buying opportunity.

Bonk Guy said he has long mainly traded low-market-cap projects because he believes such assets offer a better risk-reward ratio, and he rarely buys large-market-cap tokens even when he is bullish on their future performance. He also said that his purchase of EMBER had no "PvP" (player versus player competition) intent, that STONK and EMBER can absolutely succeed at the same time, and that the view that "only one winner can exist in a sector" actually goes against the essence of the crypto industry.

Bonk Guy also said that the STONK community's strong reaction this time actually demonstrates its community cohesion, and that competition and multiple projects winning together are good for the industry.
