Solana: Plans to Launch Alpenglow Upgrade in October, August Transaction Volume Reaches 5 Billion

Odaily News: Solana announced on X platform that it processed 5 billion transactions in August, surpassing the combined transaction volume of all other blockchain networks, equivalent to processing over 100,000 transactions per minute, while maintaining transaction fees far lower than other public chains. Additionally, the Alpenglow upgrade, aimed at significantly boosting network confirmation speed, is expected to launch this October, potentially reducing transaction confirmation time from approximately 12 seconds to 400 milliseconds.
