4 long-dormant Bitcoin wallets moved 202.84 BTC, worth $15.73 million

Odaily News: Four long-dormant Bitcoin wallets were reactivated between August 29 and September 4, collectively moving 202.84 BTC worth approximately $15.73 million. The largest address held 146.06 BTC, dormant for nearly 12.8 years since November 2013, representing a gain of approximately 12,902% based on a cost of around $595.

Another address held 40 BTC, untouched since November 2011, with a current value of approximately $3.09 million and an average cost of about $3, reflecting a gain of roughly 2,571,899%—meaning a bitcoin position of around $120 grew to over $3 million. Two additional addresses holding 10 BTC and 6.78 BTC respectively have been inactive since June 2011 and February 2011.

Galaxy Research flagged the recipient of the 6.78 BTC transfer as Coinbase, which is typically associated with selling intent. Some of the reactivated addresses also carry the sender label "Noah Doe," which points to a New York lawsuit seeking to have thousands of dormant addresses declared abandoned property; the case proceedings were paused by a judge in June.
