US August Non-Farm Payrolls Far Exceed Expectations, Spot Gold Drops Over $70 in Short Term

Odaily News, according to Gate data, after the release of the non-farm payroll data, spot gold dropped over $70 in the short term, reporting at $4,405 per ounce; spot silver fell $1.5 in the short term, reporting at $65.7 per ounce. The U.S. dollar index DXY rose 34 points in the short term, reaching 99.36 points.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted non-farm payroll employment figure for August came in at 162,000, the highest since March and far exceeding the market expectation of 56,000.
