The cloture vote requires 60 votes of support; if passed, the Senate will proceed to formal consideration of the bill, though this does not mean the bill is ultimately approved. The CLARITY Act aims to establish a comprehensive federal regulatory framework for the digital asset market. Meanwhile, CFTC Chairman Michael Selig stated that the agency can leverage existing authorities to advance limited cryptocurrency regulation, but these powers cannot replace the broader framework currently under consideration by Congress.
