币安被指未获MiCA牌照仍允许欧盟用户注册
Odaily Odaily News: On August 19, crypto analytics platform Sandmark found through testing that Binance still allows users from EU countries such as Austria, France, Germany, Spain, and Belgium to register and complete identity verification, with tests conducted both with and without a VPN. Accounts that passed verification did not receive warnings about the lack of a MiCA license and could still use services including receiving cryptocurrency deposits.
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) required unauthorized entities to stop opening accounts for EU clients, marketing services, and soliciting customers by July 1. After withdrawing its MiCA license application submitted to Greek regulators, Binance stated it is still advancing relevant licensing efforts to ensure long-term compliant operations in Europe and noted that it has taken measures to align its products and services with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
European regulators have begun imposing penalties for MiCA violations. On August 14, Austria's Financial Market Authority (FMA) fined crypto exchange Bitpanda €70,000 for notification and marketing violations. (Bitcoin.com News)
