Odaily News, citing sources familiar with the matter, the U.S. Department of Justice is conducting an antitrust investigation into Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), examining whether its investing partners improperly held board seats at competing AI companies simultaneously.
The investigation involves a16z-backed Databricks and Fivetran, with a16z co-founder Ben Horowitz serving on Databricks' board and partner Martin Casado serving on Fivetran's board.
Sources said the investigation has been ongoing for nearly a year, and the DOJ has not yet decided whether to take further action, and may ultimately take none at all. (Bloomberg)
