OpenAI's annualized revenue exceeds $40 billion, nearly doubling in 7 months

Odaily News: OpenAI's annualized revenue run rate has surpassed $40 billion, nearly doubling from over $20 billion at the end of 2025, with month-over-month revenue growth exceeding 20% in July alone.

In addition to ChatGPT subscription business, AI coding products such as Codex are also contributing more to this round of revenue growth, and the nascent advertising business has begun generating revenue. Demand for recently launched Agent products such as ChatGPT Work and Codex has also seen significant growth.

By comparison, Anthropic disclosed in May that its annualized revenue had exceeded $47 billion, but the two companies may use different calculation methodologies, making the figures not directly comparable. Both companies have now confidentially filed for IPOs, with Anthropic potentially going public as early as this fall. (Bloomberg)
