Vida trims one-third of BTC position, predicts potential decline to $45K–$55K over the next 1–3 years

2026-08-14 00:08

Odaily News: Formula News founder Vida stated that it has hedged through BTC/USD1 perpetual contracts when Bitcoin was around $63,000, exiting about one-third of its BTC position while retaining two-thirds of its spot holdings.

Vida said it remains bullish on Bitcoin in the long term, but the current BTC narrative has been clearly overshadowed by AI, and it expects it will be difficult to see a new core narrative emerge over the next 1 to 2 years. Vida believes the next Bitcoin bull run may need to be driven by factors such as problems with U.S. Treasuries or the dollar, or growing concerns over fiat currency depreciation—and before that, global assets may first undergo a repricing.

Based on this judgment, Vida expects that over the next 1 to 3 years, there will be an opportunity to buy back the exited position in the $45,000 to $55,000 range, while retaining two-thirds of BTC spot as a long-term base position.
