Google co-founder Sergey Brin to Oversee Gemini Large Model Development
Odaily News: Google's large model development has been slow due to factors such as computational constraints and internal disagreements. Google co-founder Sergey Brin is urging core AI staff to fully commit to the development of the Gemini large model. Brin has been repeatedly emphasizing to core AI staff that they must catch up with the industry's cutting-edge level. Insiders say Brin is pushing resources toward recursive self-improvement (RSI), a technology aimed at enabling AI to self-iterate and upgrade without human intervention. Internal testing shows that the new version of Gemini continues to underperform competitors in areas such as code writing, and Google has reportedly delayed the release of the new version of its flagship large model by two months to August.
