Oracle Plans New Layoffs Starting in August, with Some Teams Facing Double-Digit Cuts

2026-08-13 01:37

Odaily News: Oracle has formulated plans to initiate a new round of layoffs in August, with managers instructed to submit lists of affected employees. The goal is to reduce salary expenses before the company's second fiscal quarter begins on September 1. According to internal documents, some teams may face layoff ratios reaching double-digit percentages. Oracle declined to comment on this matter.

In the fiscal year ending May 31, Oracle had already cut approximately 21,000 positions, accounting for 13% of its total workforce, reducing its employee count from about 162,000 to 141,000. (The Street)
