Odaily Planet Daily News Bitcoin News posted on the X platform that the Bitcoin Policy Institute, together with a coalition of more than 40 institutions, is urging leading AI labs to provide trusted access to their most advanced AI models to eligible open-source security defenders.
The open letter states that Bitcoin and digital asset developers are facing increasingly sophisticated AI-driven cyber threats, while legitimate security research is often restricted by the safety mechanisms of frontier models.
Signatories including Block, Coinbase, Strategy, MARA, Galaxy, BitGo, Brink, OpenSats, Chaincode Labs, Spiral, Trezor, and Unchained are requesting early access to frontier cybersecurity models, adequate computing power, secure research environments, and direct communication channels with AI lab security teams.
The open letter states: "Defenders need frontier technology—give them a fair first-mover advantage."
