Wall Street "wails" over Fed reform, Dimon backs Warsh, calling him visionary

2026-08-06 13:12

Odaily News The recent moves by new Fed Chair Warsh to scale back policy communications and eliminate forward guidance have triggered a strong backlash on Wall Street. Amid market pain and skepticism, JPMorgan CEO Dimon publicly voiced support for Warsh, calling his reforms "extraordinarily significant."

From the outset of his tenure, new Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh has wielded a "scalpel" against the Fed's long-standing communication traditions. This strategy of streamlining and reducing intervention has left Wall Street, accustomed to being "fed" with policy guidance, deeply uncomfortable. Yet amid this storm of policy transition, the head of the nation's largest bank—JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon—has firmly sided with Warsh.

In an interview, Dimon made no secret of his admiration for Warsh's reforms, describing his approach as having "extraordinary significance." Against the collective complaints from peers and analysts, Dimon's assessment came across as quite pointed. He stated bluntly that Wall Street's current reaction resembles "scared little pigs squealing," and in his view, the anxiety caused by reduced policy transparency is hardly sufficient grounds to derail the reforms.
