Odaily News: Three Missouri men, Sedric Louis, John Davis, and Martel Williams, have been charged by federal prosecutors with conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with an alleged plot to break into a home and steal Bitcoin. They face up to 20 years in prison.
The case stems from August 2024, when Danbury police arrested six Florida men involved in a violent carjacking and kidnapping of two victims—the parents of an individual involved in the theft of hundreds of millions of dollars in BTC. Prosecutors allege that the three men traveled to Connecticut from August 21 to 24, rented a vehicle, and prepared supplies such as air rifles and two-way radios. They tracked the target and his parents for two days, planning to break into their home and threaten the target into transferring the stolen cryptocurrency. The trio ultimately abandoned the operation and left Connecticut due to concerns about being captured on surveillance cameras and frustration with the execution of the plan.
